Rent a stunning traditional Normandy family home with huge garden and pool
The main house of La Maison des Grands Arbres is a traditionally thatched Norman Farmhouse with 8 bedrooms. The property has a separate house - La Petite Maison - for accommodation only. There is a swimming pool and all of this is set in beautiful gardens of 10 acres. The property backs directly onto the National Foret de Brotonne with the majestic Seine flowing just past the fields at the front of the house. Our house is beautiful and welcoming at any time of the year.
The space
The accommodation works equally well for smaller groups, families with children and teenagers, as well as larger groups. However, this house is not suited for large parties. The house is arranged over two floors, sleeps up to 15 with 5 bathrooms and one additional downstairs toilet. There is also an additional Petite Maison on the property sleeping 4, one double bed and two singles with a shared shower room. This is not rented out separately.
The house is not suitable for people with mobility issues.
The house and property are a smoke and pet free area.
The house in within a small rural community and is not suited to large parties or festivities.
The house holds years of family history and has a huge amount of traditional character whilst having all mod cons. The outdoor pool, pool house and converted bakery - Petite Maison - at the bottom of the garden, make this house the perfect choice for your holiday in Normandy.

“Had a wonderful week with friends and family in this huge and cosy family manor. All amenities are available for a splendid family holiday: huge house with a long family history that breathes throughout the whole compound, volleyball nets, football goals, baseball bats, big swimming pool, BBQ, nicely kept sports grounds and many corners to sit for a quiet moment or have drinks and a nice cheese. Martin was very responsive and the caretakers on the ground fixed everything we encountered (clogged dishwasher that was fixed within hours). Weather can be a bit unpredictable but we had alternatives to navigate through the rain showers (games in the house and visits to surrounding towns). And even having long walks in the rain in the beautiful forest - that literally starts at the back of the house - was a favourite with the young ones. The large number of rooms and bathrooms guaranteed everyone had their privacy and convenience. Supermarkets, charcuterie and bakery are at a reasonable distance but you will need a car to get around. The living rooms with the fireplaces were perfect hang outs for the parents when it became cold outside, whilst the kids had a blast in the tv room. This house is highly recommended for a cosy and active family holiday.”
“12 of us, as 3 generations of a family, have just spent a week in this wonderful house. The facilities are great with plenty of sporting equipment to entertain the grand children and the pool was loved by all. We also walked a lot in the local woods. The location could not be better as we enjoyed time along the Seine and trips to Rouen and Honfleur. The house is very peaceful so the older ones amongst us often just sat in the peaceful garden. The house has a local manager when guests are in residence. We (the owners) are always available via email and telephone. We will look after every problem as quickly and as smoothly as we can.
About Us
We are a large family who have owned La Maison des Grands Arbres since 1997. This is our home away from home, where we can all gather, relax, eat, have fun and relax some more. This part of paradise offers time to breathe and to unwind and recharge. The very easy drive from London is 5.5 hours via the Eurotunnel. And then when we venture out, there is so much to see and do.
